SUMMARY:12th International Conference on Computability in Europe
DESCRIPTION:The conference series CiE-CS ("Computability in Europe") is an 
 interdisciplinary annual conference series promoting the development of com
 putability-related science, ranging over mathematics, computer science, and
  applications in various natural and engineering sciences such as physics a
 nd biology. The conference scope also includes the study of philosophy and 
 history of computing as it relates to questions of computability.\n\nCiE 20
 16's Motto is: "Pursuit of the Universal". The year 2016 brings the eightie
 th anniversary of the publication of Alan Turing's seminal paper featuring 
 the Universal Turing Machine. Just as the semantics of the machine gave ris
 e to Incomputability, and pointed to future directions in proof theory, AI,
  generalised computability, the underlying role of typed information and na
 tural language, and the computability and definability underpinning bioinfo
 rmatics: so our conference subtitle honours Turing's role in anticipating t
 he quest for universal computational frameworks across a wide spectrum of s
 cientific and humanist disciplines.
